Trainee Quantity Surveyor – London & South East – 2019 Programme


Our trainee programme is a great opportunity to gain further qualifications at university or college, with on-the-job training giving you the chance to earn while you learn.


As a Trainee Quantity Surveyor you’ll work within the commercial team who procure trade / subcontract packages which include assisting with completing tender analysis and the preparation of tender and contract documents.

What you’ll do:
  • Spend time on-site measuring and quantifying works for the cost plan validation, and completing interim and final account valuations
  • Build relationships with a wide range of people including trade contractors and client representatives
  • Complete site measurement and records, day work sheets, labour and plant returns
  • Provide assistance to the Senior/Quantity Surveyor in preparation of:
       - Preparation of subcontractors accounts

       - Measurement and quantities for interim valuations

  • Maintain QS files and filing system
  • Become competent in commercial site procedures, systems, cost control, variations of contract and methods of measurement
  • Adherence to Skanska policies and procedures
  • Ad hoc duties as job requires
Who you are:
  • Studying to achieve or having achieved a minimum of 112 UCAS points (under the new tariff)  or equivalent plus Maths and English at GCSE (Grade C/level 4 or above)
