CAD Officer (Drawing Office Developer) – Northwood Headquarters

Skanska provides total facilities management for Assets, Infrastructure, Support and Office Services across a wide spectrum within a large military complex.

The CAD Officer will ensure that FS operational delivery performance is in line with contract obligations and FS business processes. Services to be delivered with high levels of customer satisfaction and ensuring that the site remains compliant.

Here are a few of the things you’ll be doing in the role:
  • Organising the Drawing Office function sufficient to manage own workload and that of a small  team of other AutoCAD experienced professionals to maintain the accuracy of retained drawing data and publish  legacy drawings upon demand and create new reference drawings from retained archived information to a high standard.
  • Developing the management of relationships associated with the provision of drawings needed by project managers that Include; industrial plant, mechanical and electrical schematics, communication infrastructures, architectural and landscaping and office space management.
  • Monitoring tasks in progress and ensure work is completed to target timescales. Thereby satisfying client and user expectations aiming for consistently high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Ensuring that the team has adequate training and resources to allow the team to complete its contractual obligations;
  • Assisting in the preparation of periodic audit reports required by either the client or FS management teams;
Here are a few of the experiences you may have which will help you be successful:
  • Experience of previous line management experience.
  • Experience in a drawing office environment with working knowledge of computer aided drawing applications and configuration management via the use of CAD tools and databases. 
  • Qualified in a technical drawing or related discipline at NVQ/HNC level or degree.
  • A minimum of 5 years related industry experience with a proven working knowledge of 2D and 3D software with an ability to apply BIM strategies to AutoCAD.
  • Experience of facilities management service delivery would be advantageous
  • Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing with all levels of employee, customer and client.
  • Ability to manage and prioritise a demanding and varying workload.
  • Ability to deliver project work on time and with accuracy.
